iPhone App Setup

How to configure the FileTrac iPhone App from the Settings page, including service mapping and enabling mobile access for field adjusters.

Overview

The iPhone App Setup section in FileTrac Settings lets administrators configure the FileTrac mobile application for field adjusters. The setup process involves mapping FileTrac services to the mobile app so that adjusters working in the field can log time, submit expenses, update claim statuses, and sync data back to the main FileTrac system from their iPhone.

Accessing iPhone App Setup

Navigate to Settings from the main FileTrac navigation. In the General Setup column, locate iPhone App Setup. Click it to open the configuration panel. This section is only available to users with administrator-level access.

iPhone App Service Mapping

The core of the iPhone App configuration is service mapping. FileTrac's desktop interface uses a detailed list of services and fee codes for billing and time tracking. The iPhone App uses a simplified version of these services optimized for mobile entry. The service mapping screen lets you connect each mobile service option to the corresponding desktop service so that data entered on the phone is recorded correctly in FileTrac.

Click "Click to Configure" next to iPhone App Service Mapping to open the mapping interface. For each mobile service entry, select the corresponding FileTrac desktop service from the dropdown. Once mapped, adjusters using the iPhone App will see the correct service options when logging time or submitting entries from the field.

What Field Adjusters Can Do on the iPhone App

Once the iPhone App is configured and the adjuster's personnel record has login access enabled, the adjuster can use the mobile app to:

  • View assigned claims and claim details from the field.

  • Log time entries against mapped services.

  • Submit expense entries for reimbursement.

  • Update claim status and add notes.

  • Capture and upload photos directly to the claim's document library.

  • Sync all field data back to the central FileTrac system.

Tips

  • Complete the service mapping before rolling out the iPhone App to adjusters. If services are not mapped, time entries submitted from the phone may not be recorded against the correct billing codes.

  • Ensure each field adjuster's personnel record has Can Login enabled and the appropriate user role assigned before they attempt to use the mobile app. See Personnel Manager Overview for details on managing login access.

  • If your organization updates its Services and Fees list, revisit the iPhone App Service Mapping to ensure the mobile mappings still align with the current service codes.

  • Encourage adjusters to sync the app regularly to avoid data conflicts between field entries and desktop updates.
