FileTrac can move a claim to the next status on its own when an adjuster logs time under a specific timelog code, so you don't have to update the status by hand. You map a timelog code to a status once, and from then on logging that code advances the claim automatically. This is set up per status, under Claim Status Type in Settings.
How to set it up
Click Settings in the top menu.
Under General Setup, click Claim Status Type. Your list of statuses appears, one status per row.
Find the status you want a timelog code to trigger. To the left of the status name is a small gear (settings) icon. Click it. A popup titled Automatic Status Update Setup opens, and the status you picked is shown at the top next to Status:
In the popup, look for the Add New Timelog Code heading. Directly below it is a row containing a small checkbox on the left and a dropdown of timelog codes to its right.
Choose the timelog code you want from the dropdown.
Click the checkbox to the left of that dropdown so it is checked. (An unchecked code will not be saved.)
Click the orange Save/Update Timelog Codes button.
The code now appears under the Timelog Codes heading near the top of the popup, which lists every code already mapped to this status. Repeat these steps for each status you want to automate.
How it works day to day
Once a code is mapped, your adjusters don't need to do anything extra. When an adjuster logs time on a claim and chooses a code you've mapped, the claim automatically moves to the matching status.
Note: you may need to refresh the claim or reopen the claim list to see the new status.
A few tips
Map one timelog code to one status. Using the same code for more than one status can cause unexpected results.
When a claim advances, its due date recalculates automatically from that status's own due-date settings (the number of days and whether it counts from the Received Date, Current Date, or Date of Loss). This is expected.
To remove a code from a status, open that status's Automatic Status Update Setup popup and click the trash icon next to the code under the Timelog Codes heading.
